Silicon Valley, Meet Silicon Forest

A Portland region manufacturer of semiconductors announced March 10, 2008, that it is acquiring a Northern California manufacturer of wireless-communication components.

The companies involved are TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. of Hillsboro and WJ Communications Inc. of San Jose, Calif.

The deal, which is subject to approval by WJ Communications shareholders, is valued at about $72 million.
