City Makes a Fashion Statement

Women’s Wear Daily recently took note of Portland’s prominence in the apparel industry.

In a full page of articles as part of its May 8 edition, WWD reported on the region’s overall renaissance, including its emergence as a hub for the activewear and footwear industries.

The publication also cited the five-year-old Portland Fashion Week, “which has focused on sustainable fashion since 2006 and will occur Oct. 8 to 12 on a bamboo runway at the Cascade Shipyard on Swan Island in the Willamette River.”
