Heard of Woodstock? Portland is home to Wordstock.
More than 200 national and regional authors from every genre travel to Portland each November for the book and literary festival. The Oregon Convention Center houses nine stages where readings occur, and other events include a children’s festival and writing workshops.
Wordstock began in 2005 and soon emerged as the largest celebration of literature and literacy in the Pacific Northwest. Community of Writers, a nonprofit organization that promotes writing, sponsors the event.
