Boyds Coffee, Stumptown Coffee Please Connoisseurs

Portland has microbrews, and the Willamette and Yamhill valleys have wines. Less well known is that Portland is a coffee connoisseur’s delight.

It is home to Boyd Coffee Co., which dates from 1900. Today, Boyds Coffee is available at the company’s three retail locations in Portland; at specialty stores in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Nevada and Illinois; and online (www.boyds.com).

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is another local coffee company. Stumptown, which is a reference to a nickname for Portland, operates four cafés and two auxiliary facilities in the city, as well as an online ordering site (www.buystumptowncoffee.com). The company prides itself on roasting organic beans only.
